What a privilege it was to attend last weeks State of Origin match. Not only was it special with JT's send off but these tickets were very kindly gifted to me for my birthday. Thanks Dad, you couldn't have done any better if you tried. We really were blessed with some of the best seats in the house.
The atmosphere was electric. You could taste the passion in the air. This match was going to be next level, that I was sure of.
I was at Suncorp for last years second State of Origin match but that crowd had nothing on this one.
Putting on a maroon jersey brings a sense of responsibility but each and every Queenslander in that stadium stood up to the challenge.
The Queensland boys might have been the underdogs but what they lacked in technical ability they made up in determination. We were all screaming our hearts out for those boys and I really think it helped.
I take my hat off to the NSW Blues for letting us win another series. Honestly though, it must be awful to keep feeling so disappointed. I think it's the lack of respect they have for each other and the lack of determination to never give up. They did their best but once again the Queenslanders proved far too strong.
There is just something so unique about Origin football. I love every aspect of it and hope like hell I'll see another game next year.
