Dear Gogglebox

Dear Gogglebox,

Having been introduced to your program and avidly watching it since, I thought I would look into the casting application process. You see, my family and I were excited for the prospect of joining Gogglebox and commenting on the vast array of programs your current families enjoy.

We are a four-person unit comprising of me, my Dad Peter, my Mum Leesa and my sister Jacinta.

To my dismay you are only casting people from both Sydney and Melbourne. Unfortunately we are based in Beerwah on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland and can't quite make that commute. So, in the hopes your casting team and executive board one day read this blog post, I'm going to state the several reasons as to why my family should be cast in your program.

1. WE'RE FUNNY. I'm not sure whether this is a strict prerequisite but you would have no problem casting us as the funny ones. My family crack jokes like nothing else and are constantly laughing. We love watching TV together and are always making fun of ourselves. I'm probably the funniest but each of us have our moments.

2. WE'RE NORMAL. I don't know about you but I think it's getting harder and harder to find the "average" Australian family. My Dad works full-time managing a pineapple packing plant, Mum managers a local scrapbooking shop, my sister is an apprentice chef and I'm studying journalism at uni. We're all hard working and represent the values this country prides itself on.

3. WE'RE SLIGHT BOGANS. Don't think of this as any kind of disadvantage. As bogans, my family have the ability to reach a much larger target audience and bring in a wider consumer market. Living in Beerwah really has given us an understanding of just how the lower socio-economic people live and breathe. You'll often see us at the local pub basking in all Beerwah has to offer.

4. WE'RE CULTURED. This has quite a lot to do with where we live and the people we associate with. But, given the chance to star in Gogglebox would give us the opportunity to share our ideals with the rest of Australia. Now, I'm not talking about standing up for controversial issues and using your program to persuade the country into thinking like us, but I do think it would be great to tell everyone about the bogans of Beerwah.

5. WE'RE LOVEABLE. I don't mean to brag but the Dwan's know what it takes to get the country to fall in love with us. We are kind, caring and genuine. We also love really getting into our TV shows and can be quite emotional. So, if you're looking for a family to feel all the feels we're it.

Given these amazing qualities it should only be a matter of time before you pick up the phone and ask us for an audition. We are ready to take on the responsibility of the next funny bogan family. Please consider us as I know you won't be disappointed.

P.S. Obviously this post has been written in complete sarcasm and we don't really have an intention to be cast in the next season of Gogglebox Australia. However, if the opportunity was to present itself I don't think we would say no. I hope you all love the show as much as we do.
