50 Facts About Yours Truly

I was kind of at a loss for what to talk about this week so decided to tackle the topic I know most, myself. Here is a list of things you may or may not know about me. By the way I hope this isn't completely immature and some of you actually like getting to know me a little more.

My full name is Ashleigh Michele Dwan. Yes there is only one 'l' and my middle name is the same as my Mums.
I am 19 but have always felt mature beyond my years. When I was a kid I always wanted to be apart of the grown up conversations and still feel too young.
There is a cat that lives with us, Mia Rose although we don't seem to get along. She is fluffy and very cute but also an attacking psycho. I have the mental scars to prove it.
When I was in my early primary school days I signed up for netball. I stuck at it for 7 years and it was probably one of the best decisions I have ever made.
I have the most loving, caring and down to earth family. They mean the absolute world to me and I couldn't imagine going through life without having such amazing supporters.
I was School Captain at both my primary and high schools. It sounds like one of the geekiest things to do but I loved every minute of the extra responsibility and speech making.
I'm a perfectionist.
My eyebrows are my favourite feature.
From a young age my parents took me on various Australian holidays and I have seen quite a fair bit of this country.
Melbourne is my favourite city.
I am an all or nothing kind of girl. I can't do anything by halves.
I have worked at Australia Zoo for almost 5 years. I actually really enjoy retail and have the best time chatting away to visitors from all over the globe.
Karl Stefanovic is the reason I started my journalism degree.
I own far too much stationary for a normal human being and could probably populate an entire forrest with my notebooks from Typo.
My sense of style is very corporate but I like to feel good in what I wear.
I like all different types of music. From country to pop and everything in between, there is nothing I wouldn't give a go, with the exception of classical.
Purple is my favourite colour.
I hate shopping for birthday and Christmas presents. I would much prefer to think of someone and buy something, rather than look for something for a special occasion.
I am a Capricorn, the same as my Mum, which according to some extremely reliable website means my strengths include responsibility and self-control but I can be unforgiving and condescending.
I took Spanish for years but could probably only count to 10.
My favourite subject at school was always English.
There are moments when I consider that I might be too confident. Is overconfidence a bad thing?
Respect is my ultimate quality in a person.
I have more freckles than I care to count and only now am I starting to appreciate their true beauty.
My Mum is my best friend.
I think I am kind of a hopeless romantic but at the same time extremely realistic.
I am very independent and like to be in control. Whether it is the TV remote or steering wheel I prefer to be driving.
This blog is one of my favourite things and something that makes me very happy.
Reading is very important to me. There is nothing better than escaping in a good book.
My sister and I are mistaken for twins all the time but I can't tell why people think we look the same. I will admit there is a certain similarity but each of our features are very different.
There is an art to applying makeup. I taught myself how to do it through hundreds of beauty YouTube videos and love experimenting. I recently introduced my Mum to eyebrow gel and she is in love.
I am very sentimental and love when people do thoughtful things for me.
I've been to New Zealand twice and the scenery there is like nothing I have ever seen. Milford Sound is a must see.
I believe that everything happens for a reason.
The first concert I ever went to was Taylor Swift.
My favourite number is 36. It's so random but it's the only way I could remember 6x6.
I love communicating with people. Whether that means getting to know someone or having the same conversation about someone's dreams, I am your girl.
I am motivated and determined to be successful.
I'm scared that I won't reach all my goals.
I use to wear glasses.
Sunglasses and hats do not suit me at all.
I hated athletics at school and would always volunteer to help the teacher in high jump to avoid actually jumping.
I say 'like' far too often and can't stop the habit.
My bogan background is something I am proud of, but I can't work out whether I am a bogan trying to be a professional or a professional trying to be a bogan.
I have the best relationship with my Dad and love how close we are. He offers the best life advice.
One day I hope to have someone to share my life with, to share my dreams with and to encourage them to share theirs.
I waste so much time on social media and try to convince myself it's part of my career.
The idea of having my own kids terrifies me but I know I want my own family someday.
As a frequent organiser I love nothing more than a fluro highlighter and red biro.
I'm happy.
