The World At 18

When this post goes live I hope to be sipping on something quite strong and relaxing in our sub-penthouse apartment on the Gold Coast. It seems our little family will be leaving the bogans of Beerwah for a couple of nights to live it up at the Goldie for our little girl's 18th.

Given the option to party with us for an extended weekend or invite a bunch of strange teenagers to our house, Cint opted for the more luxurious choice. I must say I am extremely happy that I, too, get to enjoy the excitement of stunning beach views, fancy restaurants and winning big at Jupiter's Casino. I say winning in order to grace the gambling gods with good karma, ensuring I win a small fortune and can afford a couple of Sambuca rounds.

I'm going to take this opportunity to dedicate this weeks post to my extremely caring, generous, bubbly, bright and happy little sister, Jacinta Amber. She is honestly one of the most gorgeous girls. I say this not only because she is the best little sister but because she is just such a great human being. Cinty really is the happy addition to our family and is always smiling regardless of her day at work. She shows so much commitment to her job, even though the hours are crap, and works like a trooper just because of her work ethic. I really do admire her genuine caring nature knowing she would do anything for anyone. Her slightly blonde moments bring me so much joy and I love that she's funny without trying. Over the last year we have gotten closer than ever before and I see her as more of my lifelong friend rather than a family member. I feel so lucky to have watched her grow into the confident young woman that she is.

So to my beautiful baby sister let this next year be the start of a new chapter. Go clubbing, drink too much and have no regrets when you wake up with little memory of the previous night's activities. Tell me everything! I want all the little details. Go on adventures. That may mean quiet trips to the beach by yourself or slightly scarier international flights to New York (preferably with a certain someone, hint, hint). But most importantly, don't let adulthood change you. You are so innocent and carefree and I hope that never changes. Please continue to see the world in a bright light and always remember my love for you is unconditional. I will be there by your side, holding your hand and trying my absolute best to help you through life's ups and downs. I love you baby xx
