Adventures

I really like adventures. I like that feeling you get when you do something for the first time or visit a new place.

I was reminded of this last Friday at the Museum of Brisbane in City Hall. After a hard day shopping and fine dining in the city centre I was determined to get a little touristy. I had seen a poster advertising their current exhibition on World War One.

I wasn't left feeling disappointed.

Photos of fallen soldiers lined the building's walls. It gave me goose bumps. As I studied the faces of the brave men and women, most of which my age now, I started to choke up. There is something so powerful in knowing that these people, no different to me, gave their lives so that I can live freely here in Australia. It was very moving.

The photo below was taken from the top of the Museum's clock tower above a church I can't find the name of.

It was really special to be up so high just as the sun began to set.

If you have read my other posts you will know that at the age of 12 I was no fan of heights. But, I think I'm starting to get over it or maybe it was the rope I was afraid of.

Anyway, the Museum and the view from its clock tower started to make me think about all the things I want to do and all the places I want to visit. It can sound kind of naive to say you want to travel the world and experience the culture of different places but I think it's definitely something I want to look into.

I would love to have a passport full of international stamps and the experiences to go along with it.
