The Man Himself

Karl Stefanovic is the reason I wanted to be apart of the journalism industry. He is the perfect combination of professional media personality and down to earth Aussie bloke. Not to mention his intellectual way with words and hilarious sense of humour. He encompasses the many qualities that I hope to display if given the chance to succeed at that level of television.

As a result there really wasn't an option when the entire TODAY team visited Mooloolaba, I had to be there.

Although I wouldn't call myself a "tragic fan" I was still a little star struck as I walked onto the sand a little before sun rise. It was just amazing to see the little TODAY family doing what they do best in front of a live audience. What I found even more incredible was the team behind the scenes ensuring a smooth broadcast. It was eye opening to see the lengths the film crew go to just to make sure the lighting is perfect at every stage of the show. I think they must of adjusted them at least 3 or 4 times within the space of as many hours.

I was kind of pinching myself at the thought of actually meeting the man that has inspired my career and felt privileged to have had the opportunity to be in his presence. That selfie will go down in history as one of my career defining moments.
