Having What It Takes

Asking yourself if you have what it takes to get you into that dream job is also a little scary. Here is my SWOT analysis determining just how capable I am for that position at Vogue.

Strengths -

I love to write and manage to do it quite well. I also have a strong passion for beauty and would be lost without my morning makeup routine. When I am in front of the mirror creating a dramatic eye for a night out or a simple everyday look for Uni I am in my element.

Weaknesses -

Experience is always going to be a factor as I have very little of it, professionally I mean. Although I do a lot of writing for Uni, do my makeup everyday and try my hardest to keep up with the world of beauty and journalism I don't have physical evidence to say I know what I am talking about. Opportunties -

I am in the process of completing my University degree at QUT and that in itself is a place that produces dozens of opportuntities on a daily basis. Embracing these new experiences may well pay off and see me earn some of that experience I seem to be lacking.

Threats -

A major threat to my dream career is the competition for such occupations. Due to changing technologies and the declining number of journalists it becomes increasingly difficult to land the big, once in a lifetime job opportunties. I do however, already possess certain qualities unlike my competitors through my photography skills and ability to operate a video camera.
